How We Started

Marcella always believed that there was a deep connection between the things we put in our body and the way we feel. For example, sometimes we use a product and our skin feels worse than before. We eat something and feel an upset stomach. We read an article (or watch the news), and feel stressed before even realizing it.
In January 2022, she and her husband began to develop allergic reactions with “factory-made” soaps. Marcella started wondering what was going on because she hadn’t changed the brand. After some reading and investigation, she realized that she could not control what those factories were using in their products. She also had no idea what all the ingredients were or even if they were necessary.

In the beginning of June, 2022, Marcella started to develop some itchy red spots on her face, and, as a woman, it affected her self-esteem. Make-up was not hiding it- just making it worse. She started to make her own soaps and gave them to family and friends. After a few months of making cold process soaps, she began to receive good feedback from her family and friends regarding their skin and how enjoyable it was after they showered. Their allergic reactions stopped and they encouraged her to sell her products to more people.

One day, during her quiet time, she asked the Lord to show her how she could help others with her passion. During prayer one morning, this verse came to her, “Honor her for all that her hands have done,” (NIV). She thought she could use her hands (craft talents) combined with God's creation (the nature).

In January 2023, she stepped out in faith for what she believed to be her calling. She opened Herbal and Honor to serve and help other fellow Christian women honor God through buying products for their holistic journey.

We hope and pray you will partner with us on your holistic journey as you walk the Christian life, free of all that hinders you.

Helping Other with Your Gifts

"During prayer one morning, this verse came to me, “Honor her for all that her hands have done,” (Proverbs 31:31 NIV). I believed I could glorify God using my hands (craft talents) combined with God's creation (the nature) to help other sisters in Christ in their Holistic Journey." - Marcella Gastrich

Passion and Creativity

Marcella Gastrich is the face and hands behind Herbal & Honor. She moved to the United States from Brazil back in January of 2013. She accepted Christ as her Savior while she was still in Brazil, but only after moving to Maryland in June of 2014, she got baptized as a new re-born Christian.

Her “calling” started from a young age. Her mom always noticed her excitement and talent with crafts. So at age 4, her mom signed Marcella up for her first craft class.  From that day on, everything was about creating things.

Marcella adventured with soaps and candles while in her teens, selling to family and friends.

At age 24, she got her degree in Architecture and Master Interior Design. Her career brought national and international recognition among her peers.

However, Marcella always wanted to embrace her God given gifts of having  a family and a small handmade business.

God, Family, and America

Today, Marcella, a proud wife and American citizen, lives with her family (Kevin, Phoebe, Sawyer - the dogs, and their 11 chickens) in a “small-little-farm” in Maryland and has made living a holistic life and studying aromatherapy her mission.
